To prevent the Mediterranean and Mexican fruit fly from establishing in US orchards, every mango imported from Mexico, Peru, or Brazil must be submerged in a 115°F hot water bath for up to 90 minutes in USDA-certified packing facilities before entering cold-storage trailers for border crossing.
